Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America? As I sit and listen to the aftermath of both the Republican and the Democratic Conventions I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly different the perspectives and the rhetoric is coming from both sides. From the ridiculous comment of Bill O’Reilly “The slaves who built the White House were fed and clothed adequately”, to Trump implying that the Muslim Capt. Kahn’s family (He was killed protecting his unit as a Muslim American fighting in Afghanistan) should not have been allowed to speak at the convention. Nor can I properly articulate how scared I am of a world that would have Donald Trump as President I am equally looking at what is the potential silver lining in this ridiculous possibility.
Why is Donald Trump Good for black America? For so many years we have listened as one Police chief, or political figure from the republican party after another has launched the codes words or the code terms to indicate policing or criminalizing African Americans. We all know of the tremendous injustices we have suffered and it goes well beyond the recent cases of Freddie Gray, Trayvon Martin, Michael Dunn, Michael Brown, or even the young Tamir Rice playing on a play ground, and so many more. Even though they have become the symbols of what is wrong with our justice system and the way that Police approach African American communities. We all have our own family horror stories or _______ While Black examples (Fill in what ever example you want driving, shopping, carrying a licensed weapon, or even standing what your hands up). When we listen to these political or public figures spin whatever it is they are spinning to make it seem that in some way we deserved to be shot for not being ‘good niggers’ (Please note there is no “a” on the end of that word)!!!. We always walk away wondering did they really say that? Or sometimes we walk away scratching our heads wondering “could they have done something different that would have resulted in a different response? All the while our common sense tells us we are a target, but the pundits do such an effective spin on the facts that we walk way wondering if maybe we are mistaken.
Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America? Because finally we have someone who is not “SPINNING” his words, he is saying directly that America needs to go back to the way it was? (Not sure what he means), he talks about ‘reinforcing law and order’. He talks about the shooting of officers, (which I agree is not acceptable and the people who do that are also wrong), but he never mentions the wrong associated with the police who shoot first. He never mentions the innocent, unarmed people who are shot , killed, or hurt by “Thug Police” each day. They should also be bought to justice. Instead he acts like Black Lives are collateral damage in his view of ‘Taking America Back’. Finally we have someone who is not spinning. He is saying directly, Blacks we don’t want you hear unless you conform to what we say you should look like, dress like, talk like, etc etc. He is saying Mexicans we don’t want you here, Muslims we don’t want you here. Anyone who is a non White American we don’t want you here!!!
Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America? Because we finally have one of them coming from behind the sheet who is seeking power (or is actually already wielding it with the lobbyists he says he controls). We finally have a face to the hatred, and he is revealing all of the likeminded followers with the same type of mentality. No matter how you slice it America, even if Hillary wins, Donald Trump is showing that at least 40-45% of Americans share hos views. Some of them are corporate people, some are low class trailer trash, some are our neighbors, some are our teachers, some are our Police Officers. That should scare the hell out of everyone who believes in Democracy.
Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America? Finally we have someone who is telling us that in his agenda there is no place for black concerns or black issues to be discussed unless they somehow relate to the bigger agenda at large. We finally have someone who is stepping from behind the wall to say that Black America is not important (nor is Hispanic concerns, or any one who opposes his views of a White America governed by Law and Order. . Hopefully as a people we take this and realize that we must support Black Owned businesses, hopefully we take this and realize that we must vote. So many are worried what Trump may do overseas because of his lack of Foreign policy experience. I share that concern, but my biggest concern is that he implements steps to put in place a “Police State” in many African American communities to put in place his “Law and Order”, that he somehow give creative license and a blank check to police officers more than what they already have.
Why is Donald Trump good for Black America- Because now we cant act like we don’t know any longer how they feel. We can’t act like everything is fine any longer or that it is going to get better if we just wait for them to get around to handling it. My people we MUST start to mobilize and support each other. We must come together and form a political and economic agenda or else THEY will find away to silence us (whether it is allowing some of us to make it through while they incarcerate or kill the rest of us, or whether they deliberately just don’t allow us access to the funding or the political offices that can assist us. Please know that Donald Trump is not alone. He is the spokesperson, but I think it should be obvious to everyone that there is a great support for his ideas. Now the question is what are we going to do about it?
Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America? Because finally WE MUST WAKE UP…. FINALLY WE MUST COME TOGETHER…FINALLY WE MUST SEE THIS FOR WHAT IT IS, WHICH IS THAT WE AS BLACK AMERICANS MUST BEGIN SUPPORTING AND CREATING AN AGENDA THAT ALLOWS OUR COMMUNITIES, OUR BUSINESSES, AND OUR POLITICAL AGENDAS TO BE SUPPORTED. WE MUST HIT THEM FINANCIALLY AND AT THE BALLOT BOX.
Why is Donald Trump Good for Black America?….. Because he took off the mask and said what they really feel.
